Dwesses
This little amigo has become quite opinionated about her appearance lately. I know, hard to believe she could be any MORE opinionated than she already is. Her new thing is to wear a "dwess" EVERY DAY. We were running out of dresses pretty quick and every morning when she asked to wear one, she was on the verge of an emotional explosion depending upon my answer. We found some tutu "dwesses" we can just put over the top of clean clothes each and every day. She is ecstatic, as am I, because I don't have a fight on my hands every morning!

Poor sickie!!
It all started this past Tuesday. Addie was a little weepy before school but I'd couldn't pin point what was wrong so I just gave her some ibuprofen and sent her to school. 2 1/2 hours later I got a call from the school secretary telling me that Addie had a temperature of 102 degrees. This was a little scary because she should have been at the peak of her ibuprofen and also there was another little girl in her grade that had a febrile seizure the week before because her temp was so high. What would it have been if she hadn't had ibuprofen?? Yikes! Well, long story short we have battled a fever, day and night, for the last 6 days. She was reaching temps of 104.7, usually in the middle of the night. I felt so bad to see her time after time, panting, red faced, crying, and so lethargic. Even Nurse Amy got a little nervous with this one. I have never seen a temperature last so long. I felt like I was drugging her constantly and if I let up, BAM, her fever was back with a vengeance!
I am hoping today that she has turned the corner. Right now, she is at 100.2, which is as low as its been, not on any medicines. Old school Looney Tunes, cold washcloths, ibuprofen and acetaminophen, popsicles, and lots of fluids and have been our best friends now for the past week.
We took her into her pediatrician on Friday. She tested negative for influenza. Her doctor thought that she just has a bad sinus/respiratory infection. Her sinuses were totally clogged and she had so much drainage. She put her on an antibiotic and some cough and cold medicine.
Here are some pics on the way to the doc. The only thing I could get her to drink at the time was root beer. I was desperate for her to drink ANYTHING at that point, so alas, root beer it was. She also asked to wear my sunglasses and found some of her lipgloss when she got in the truck. Doesn't she look smashing for such a sick little girl? ; )

Pure Laziness!
Holy cow... feels like a truck ran over me. By the way the kids are acting, apparently, they feel the same way too : ) . Since the kids woke up, they played and coveted their Easter loot. I had to draw the line though. The house looked like a laundry bomb exploded, and the fact that the kitchen floor was swept and mopped on Saturday is virtually unrecognizable. The older kids did a quick once over on their room, I slathered them in sunscreen, and they headed out to play. Kendal on the other hand, with half her pajamas on, snuggled in to watch a little Tangled. We love us some Tangled!! In my cozy clothes and a Diet Cherry Coke in hand, I do believe I will try and turn this chaos back into a home! Cheers and best wishes to me. (Easter pics to come... When I can locate my camera!)

One for the Record...
... and I NEVER imagined this happening, Kendal Morgan Williams chose broccoli over a mini Milky Way after lunch!! I usually get the kids lunch and after they are done, I sit down and eat. I gave them each a mini Milky Way after and then proceeded to sit at the bar and eat my turkey dog and a 1/2 pound of broccoli with some olive oil and lemon pepper on it so I could gag it down (gotta watch my cholesterol, ya know). Well apparently it is quite delicious that way to my little daughter too. She actually set her treat down on the tray of her high chair and pointed to my plate saying "broc-key!". Time and time again, piece after piece. I think she ate as much as I did. Yep, it was so noteable that my 2 year old would choose broccoli over chocolate, I HAD to document it!!
