Mutton Bustin'

My little mutton buster had 2 chances at fair time this year to ride a sheep. He tried at the junior rodeo, but his sheep fell out of the chute....twice. He rode him through the first fall, but couldn't stick the second fall. He really should have received a re-ride...but oh well. His second chance was at the regular rodeo at the fair. He scored a 74 and was 3rd out of 15 kids!! When he fell off his sheep, Cody said he was holding back the tears and said "I got dirt in my eyes. I got dirt in my mouth...but that's ok!!" He perked right up and was so proud of himself. He had been practicing so hard. (By the way, Cody makes an excellent sheep). Uncle Ben gave him a couple dollars prize money and I have never seen a happier kid!

Isn't cousin time the BEST?

Ski Lessons

This past winter Addie and some friends from the neighborhood took ski lessons up at Wolf Mountain. I took turns with the other moms carpooling. Addie latched right on to it and had a blast. She is pretty even keel and doesn't get too excited about much, but she sure did love to ski.
There were 5 lessons every Friday after school. The girls had so much fun being together and learning something new.

Brooks is 6 weeks!

Here are some pics of my baby boy! He is growing SO fast and changing so much. I haven't taken a ton of pictures these last 6 weeks... I still feel as though we are in survival mode. I did snap a picture of his first few smiles. I always feel so relieved when these babes start reaching their developmental milestones.
This little kid is a fussy one. Everyone says it must be his red hair. Hey!! Red heads are awesome! He hates his swing, his carseat, and sleeping through the night ; ) He does love bath time and tummy time (weird, I know. Most kids HATE tummy time). He sure is filling out. I have been noticing little fat ledges on the tops of his thighs and some kankles developing....love it! He has had a bad case of baby acne and gets a heat rash super easy. I think he has sensitive skin, just like mama. I can't even imagine my life without him at this point. His whole existence in the beginning was such a surprise, but now I can't even imagine him not being in my arms. That pukey pregnancy was truly worth it. Love my lil' fatty!!!

Rough Morning

Kendal woke up covered in thick snot, crying and complaining that her head hurt, she was fevered, and has a horrid cough. She was a HOT MESS. I was trying to console her AND keep Brooks out of the line of fire of her cough. At the same time I was trying to get Addie off to school and Mason off to preschool so he could practice for his graduation program. Brooks was screaming, Kendal was crying, I was trying to call the doctor and get Kendal in, and trying to sanitize everything Kendal touched with clorox wipes. AAHHH!!
As of right now, I am completely incompetent as a mother of 4! Here's to hoping it gets a little better. I didn't want to drag my 2 week old baby to the doctor to take Kendal, so Cody came home from work and took her. Sure enough, Kendal has an ear infection. He went and got her antibiotics, a movie, and me a diet coke. Hallelujah!
On the upside of things-her Tylenol kicked in, she got a dose of amoxicillin, and she got to pick out a princess crown at the doctors office! For the time being...I think everything is under control. Thank heavens for my incredible Cody who saves the day probably way more often then he should have to.

Baby Boy!

After a hard and unexpected pregnancy, little Brooks Grady made his way into this big old world on Tuesday, May 7th 2013. He weighed the same as his big brother did at a whopping 9 lbs 8 oz ( and yes i could feel EVERY single ounce of that 9 pounds!!) and was 21 1/2 inches long. I am so in love with this baby boy!
