The kids were playing outside with Ellie and Josh and enjoying the sun. First Ellie comes in and says Addie is crying because Mason threw a rock and hit her in the face. Great. Pretty soon Addie comes in, slightly whining. She points to just below her fingernail and gingerly holding her hand with her other hand says, " Looooook Mom! I have an owieeeeeee!!! It hurts so bad!" This all while she can barely see over the top of her ever-growing lump on the side of her nose to see the tiny hangnail she is talking about! So I said "Honey, I am so sorry it hurts...but what about that GINORMOUS goose-egg where Mason hit you with a rock?" "Oh yeah....that hurts too!" she says.
That is one thing about Addie. If she is actually crying, you know she really got hurt. Or she is extremely tired. She is usually one tough cookie.
P.S. This turned into a pretty good black eye in the next couple of days. Oh yes....and Mason got in BIG trouble.

oh that's sad. My kids do that all the time too...cry over the tiny scratch while blood is gushing from their head, or something. they are funny!
